Many riders unknowingly buy unsafe battery packs from sellers who cut corners. These packs are cheap, but not suitable for mobility applications.
Mixing & Matching Random Parts
Riders often pair random batteries with chargers that were never designed to work together. Without proper BMS (Battery Management Systems) or compatibility checks, this creates a serious fire risk.
Passing On Faulty Products
Some people get rid of problematic batteries instead of taking responsibility. These faulty packs end up resold to others — pushing the liability away and endangering new owners.
Why do so many riders end up with unsafe batteries? Two key reasons: budget pressure and lack of knowledge.
Many buy what looks like a good deal online — such as “Panasonic” or “LG” batteries on Carousell or Telegram for $360–$460. In reality, most of these packs contain:
Low-grade or counterfeit cells (rejects from overseas factories)
